Pre-adoption medical consultations

The Adamant Medical Clinic in St. Petersburg, Russia provides adoptive parents with a professional and detailed assessment in English of the health, well being and future development of their prospective son or daughter.

Dr. Sophia Snigireva possesses extensive experience in pre-adoptive medical examinations and assessments offering her services either within the Adamant Medical Clinic in St. Petersburg or at orphanages across the country.

Dr. Sophia Snigireva is a Pediatrician who completed her licensing in 1981 and has practiced medicine within an international medical setting since 1990. By now she has performed more than 80 pre-adoptive medical examinations and developmental assessments.

Our Basic Pre-Adoption Package includes an evaluation and summary of the child’s medical records, a physical exam, a set of lab tests, a growth evaluation using percentile charts and a developmental review. The developmental assessment will include language skills, social and adaptive behavior skills, and fine and gross motor skills using the Denver II development scale. This package includes a written copy of Dr. Snigireva report on her findings and her interaction with the child.

Our Medical Report and History Evaluation include an evaluation and summary of the child’s medical records and a complete written summary of Dr. Snigireva evaluation of the information provided.

Either program includes the opportunity for prospective parents to speak directly with the Doctor concerning the information she provides regarding the child.

Furthermore, we offer the adoptive parents to double check the results of laboratory tests taken at the orphanage at the independent laboratory of Adamant Medical Clinic. HIV test, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis and the confirmation tests of these are of special importance. Our specialist can either go to the orphanage to take the tests or we can bring the child to the Clinic for the investigation. In both cases our pre-adoption coordinator makes sure that we deal with the right child keeping the family up to date with everything that is going on.
